Class "A" vs. Class "B" shares: still stuck in the middle ages

I have seen yet another example of a company, originated by a family as a small start-up many years ago, successful, became listed on the TSX exchange and hold a significant amount of "class A" voting shares, which enable 10x the number of votes when compared to investor "class B" shares. I cannot believe this  form of control is still allowed to happen.

Anyone else feel the same way?
